We Celebrate...

All the adults of the Mexico mission trip have a lot to celebrate.
We celebrate the church of Jesus Christ in Mexico where we find the hope and the joy that bubbles up from deep inside.
We celebrate this church in Mexico that is full of life.
We celebrate the youth of RPC who are actively participating in what God is doing in the world.
Roger Celebrates:
Alexis Erdelyi covered in dirt with a beet red face who has to be called out to take a break.
Jared McNeil who worked like a dog today.  Who would scrape cement off the ground with precision
and speed so we could work again.
Joey Sapora who set the bar for checking his cool at the border and focused on working hard and being a team.
Peter Celebrates:
Collin Flynn who often goes unnoticed but is right in the middle of it all absorbing everything.
And for Collins ability to communicate with our cooks and arrange the logistics for our meals using his Spanish.
Jerry Kivett who never wants to quit but put his needs aside when Sophie Ann needed his help and
even let her bite his hand when the I.V. wouldn't go in.
John Steifel with his boat shoes and no socks, pushed over 15 wheelbarrows of sand and gravel on his own.
Michelle Celebrates:
William Michaelis who has always wanted to work harder each year on each mission trip
and is one of the reasons we stretched to take this trip.  Nothing is too hard or beyond his ability.
He also translated Spanish for our workers and helped communicate.
Parker who even with an upper respiratory infection got his rest and got back to the work site today.
Who after an I.V. for fluids is able to set good boundaries and find balance between rest, visits with families and working.
Rob Celebrates:
Kylie, Hannah and Frances who all have exhibited great desire to completer our mission without shirking or                                       complaining.  They have gone out of their way to interact with the families and children.
Rob celebrates their good attitude, good intentions and a good job done.
Andy(big Jared) Celebrates:
Hillary who refused to take a break when pouring the floor of our home.
She passed buckets of cement through 3 ft. high windows by lifting herself and we finished half of the floor we were working on.
Margaret Davis who on her first mission trip is not just watching but out there doing and
when returns home in the evening volunteers to teach English at the local church.
Mike Celebrates:
Alex who is still wearing a "remember Va. Tech" bracelet that he was given last year at ASP and
is working in honor of one who was killed at Va. Tech.
Sophie Ann who put herself on the roof today, who filled buckets and when she took a break
from her job it was only to go to a new job.
Joe Celebrates:
Brook Davis and Julie Newton who he gives the most improved award to from last year.
No job is too hard or too dirty and endured even against the toughest guys.
The Weaver team(Brian and Sarah) The race is too close to call.  They work side by side, bucket by bucket
He especially celebrates Sarah who worked so hard filling buckets with cement before it hit the ground.
Carter Celebrates:
Brian Weaver who may be the most energetic, enthusiastic and best chanter but gets a lot done at the same time.
(he also has to explain to our Mexican co-workers that Brian is a little loco)
Elizabeth who seems to be quiet but works harder than she probably ever has in her life.  Even with sore muscles,
continues to shovel sand and help the girls move 30 wheelbarrows of sand.
Don Celebrates:
Colette who has been positive about the work, the food and limited accommodations and worked with a smile on her face.
Sam whose prayers are inspirational.  Who inspired us all to think about what we really want in life
when he reflected on his sole desire to make people happy.  Who stood back as we rushed to work on the roof
so he could find the one spot where he was needed.
Lock's enthusiasm, who encourages the team work and makes sure we enjoy all our work.

The Adults of this mission trip who Celebrate:
Our youth who jump up to play soccer after a long hard day of work, play with the children
and have completed our home with the roof and floor by Wednesday.
